Education & Training Specialist - P2
This position is responsible for performing diverse, multi-level and cross-functional support duties to facilitate the successful development, design and delivery of NRECA Education and Training (E&T) programs, including in-person conferences and seminars and web-based events for electric cooperative managers, directors and staff. The tasks will include, but not be limited to, support of E&T instructional designers and program managers, event speakers and instructors, working with staff across NRECA performing web conference, marketing, registration and meeting planning functions. This position will work as an integrated team player providing support across all E&T work units, projects and assignments.
Purpose and Mission
Event Program Support
Provides project management coordination and support to curriculum designers and NRECA event program managers of conferences, seminars, orientations, training programs and online events.
Coordinates and executes back-office event (in person and online) processes using the Event Management System. This includes event set-up, speaker and instructor logistics, and event mobile apps.
Designs, writes and proofreads on-site event programs and collateral material; coordinates production of signage and exhibit displays.
Coordinates web updates event program and marketing managers.
Collaborates with program managers and marketing staff to develop and execute marketing strategies for E&T marketing campaigns.
Monitors in-person and web-based learning budgets and invoices. Reviews, reconciles and codes invoices; submits to Finance for processing and approvals.
Runs event registration reports, financial summaries, attendee lists and any other type of data reports needed to support the event.
Coordinates continuing education credit offerings for conferences and events (e.g., CLE, CPE, CPM/CPSM, PDH, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CMS, and CAP/CPS).
Provides front-line customer service and administrative support by assisting with member inquiries about E&T programs.
Travels (about 20%) to events and provides on-site support as needed
Technology-Enabled Learning Systems Support and Administration
Provides project management support in the design, development and delivery of web events for NRECA and its business partners.
Provides support for the learning management system (LMS) and other systems and technologies used to support in-person and online educational programs.
Maintains open communication and builds strong relationships to successfully execute this role.
Collaborates with NRECA stakeholders to develop and deliver web conferences that educate and inform members on critical issues. Duties include managing project timelines and coordinating logistics before, during and after the event.
Launches courses within the LMS build associated learning activities, assign user group access and properties; execute proper testing and Q/C protocols consistently to ensure flawless implementation; coordinate registration for online courses and web conferences; manage course participant rosters and instructor access for instructor-led online courses.
Trains instructors how to use the LMS for their classes.
Maintains participant profiles including system set-up and access, system visibility, security roles, and password resets; provide technical support to participants and troubleshoot system issues.
Creates and maintains LMS documentation such as issue tracking logs and master course catalog, performance and evaluation metrics.
Updates in-person course materials based on input from program managers.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
3 - 5 years experience working in an education environment in all aspects of education event planning and production, preferably association education, including conferences, seminars and workshops all shapes, all sizes, all dimensions, all formats (online and in person).
Experience with online course development software and Adobe products (InDesign, Acrobat Pro DC, Photoshop, and Illustrator) required.
Experience in developing and implementing web conferences and online courses required.
Experience working with a Learning Management System to set up and deliver online programs with a wide variety of components. Experience with a Docebo LMS, WebEx and CommPartners web platforms, and with the Articulate suite of products, animated video (e.g., Go Animate) and screen capture video (Snag it) is a plus.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development using effective organization skills and attention to detail
Must be able to interpret the customers needs, de-escalate difficult customer calls, while at the same time researching the issue and applying broad business and technical knowledge to meet the customers satisfaction
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing (also proofreading/editing), with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise
Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Project Management) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job as demonstrated by prior work experience.
