Proposals and New Business - Intern

• Must be a rising junior or senior
• 3.0 or above GPA required
• Must be available to work May 14th through August 3rd
• Wage: $18.50 per hour

Provide intern with broad exposure to the various products, services and business processes that are addressed and managed by Proposals and New Business.  The goal is to allow the individual to experience an introduction into the business of employee benefits, while providing the Proposals and New Business (PNB) team support in the timely completion of several key projects.  Some areas of development include:

• Professional writing  and communication skills
• Exposure to market and prospect analysis
• Exposure and knowledge of process management systems in support of the Program Implementation team

Purpose and Mission

Delivery of Annual Renewal Packages – Intern will support organizing reports and materials relative to the delivery of annual medical renewals.  Will work with our Senior Advisors to facilitate renewal deliveries utilizing the Paperless Proposal system.
Preparation and delivery of proposal packages - Intern will assist with the preparation and assembly of materials and information that is gathered in order to provide potential new business prospects with an overview of our available products and services.  This will include active involvement in the ongoing refinement of our Paperless Proposal delivery system.

Support Underwriting quality control process by cross-checking renewal rates on Benefit Plan Rating system.
• Assist tracking proposal activity vs. target clients, outreach efforts, proposal delivery and outcomes.
• Organize and maintain new business "war room"
• Review and summarize daily industry updates into a weekly report
• Research and analyze previous proposal activity to mine key data used to establish outreach priorities

Requirements and Qualifications

• Preferred Degree Program: Business, Marketing or Finance
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word
• Technical acumen to quickly learn and utilize NRECA custom applications (BPR, RSP, Paperless Proposal)
• Attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
