Security Intelligence Operations Center - Intern

• Must be a rising junior or senior
• 3.0 or above GPA required
• Must be available to work May 14th through August 3rd
• Wage: $18.50 per hour

Support operational security best practices, standards and technologies based upon a detailed technical understanding across a wide range of industry best practices, available tools and internal NRECA processes. Monitor critical applications and systems and respond to events for potential malicious activity, security exploits or data breaches.

Purpose and Mission
• Aid the SIOC analysts with reviewing security events and appropriate response tactics
• Develop new use cases and playbooks to improve SIOC driven response processes
• Review and update existing SIOC policies and procedures based on ISO 27001 controls
• Support operational Security Administration Functions
• Monitor Critical Applications and Systems and Respond to Security Events
• Support Risk Assessments and Support Major Projects

Requirements and Qualifications

• Preferred Degree Program: Information Security, Cyber Security
• Technical knowledge of a wide range of complex security infrastructure applications such as:
• Microsoft Windows Server products (Server, Exchange, IIS, FTP, File and Print).
• Linux server products (Samba, Apache and Red Hat).
• Microsoft Windows PC products (2000, XP, Mobile and Vista).
• Microsoft Windows and Office application suites.
