Web Engagement Intern

Note: This is an intern position. You must be a rising college junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA.

The signature product of this intern will be to develop and write a plan that lays out an approach for regular content refreshes processes, as well as an editorial calendar of select prolonged campaigns on select issues. The document will be a foundational tool creating an enhanced digital engagement with technical staff from electric cooperatives across the country, leverages broad industry trends and content from NRECA’s Business and Technology Strategies.

Purpose and Mission

• Develop and write a plan that lays out week-to-week content refreshes processes as well as an editorial calendar of select prolonged campaigns on select issues. 
• Gather and distill information from staff across multiple departments.
• Write templates, schedules, and guidance documents to support staff development around a new web site and content management system.
• Research use of sponsored content arrangements (partnering with vendors) offered by digital publications. 
• Evaluate ways to organize and improve search function of projects on
• Develop and improve skills in critical thinking, technical writing, decision making and teamwork.
• Establish process to provide other top NRECA channels with monthly (repurposed) content and method of measuring impact of use of those channels.
• Rank popularity of resources, to consider trends and focus for future research and efforts
• Analyze access to key resources identified by BTS
• Develop standardized report and process to provided twice monthly reporting of TechUpdate metrics and trends.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Marketing analysis knowledge through course studies and/or direct experience
• Familiarity with Marketing Analysis tools (MessageFocus, Google analytics, Webtrends, and/or the like)
• Familiarity with SharePoint
• Focus in communication, technical writing or marketing preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with web content and analytics
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Team player
• Experience with multimedia, desirable

This is an intern position.
3.0 or above GPA required and Must be a rising junior or senior
Dates: May 14th through August 3rd
Wages: $18.50 per hour
