Resource Adequacy & Markets Intern

Note: This is an intern position. You must be a rising college junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA.

To provide an engineering/economic/business undergraduate student a deeper understanding of the market trends that currently affecting the electric industry at large, as well as specific issues with electric cooperative data reporting obligations and challenges. Intern will leave with a better understanding of cooperative issues and the G&T/distribution relationship. This should help this student build excel, research, and writing skills set that will be useful in future endeavors.

Purpose and Mission

• Work with Resource Adequacy and Markets workgroup to understand the current market fundamentals facing the industry in general and cooperatives specifically.

• Work with BTS staff to gain a deeper understanding of reporting to EIA by cooperatives.

• Develop and vet slide presentation for NRECA / BTS resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

Engineering, Economics or Business degree program

Looking for a rising junior or senior with strong research skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. At least basic familiarity with current issues affecting the US energy and electric industries is a plus.

This is an intern position.
3.0 or above GPA required and Must be a rising junior or senior
Dates: May 14th through August 3rd
Wages: $18.50 per hour
