Note: This is an intern position. You must be a rising college junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA.
We are looking for an intern who can work with us to design and develop a relational database than integrates our economic, statistical and industry data in a centralized, easy-to-use, query-able, and updatable repository. This new database will increase the speed of existing analyses our staff produces day-to-day, offer the ability to do new kinds of analysis and visualization, and make it easier the keep the data correct and up to date.
Purpose and Mission
Collaborate with internal NRECA staff to develop specifications for the database.
Deploy a database according to the specifications.
Develop standard operating procedures and documentation for the database.
Investigate data visualization and reporting options for increasing the value of the data.
Train NRECA staff on the use, functionality and benefits of the database.
Work with BTS and IT departments to make sure the database is secure and maintainable as part of NRECA's IT infrastructure.
Requirements and Qualifications
Computer science or Information Technology degree program
Experience in software development and database technology
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
This is an intern position.
3.0 or above GPA required and Must be a rising junior or senior
Dates: May 14th through August 3rd
Wages: $18.50 per hour
